{ Fun layouts, Project 365 - week 21 }

I have been playing at My Scrapbook Nook. They are having a five week scrap-off. I am happy to say that I have made it to the second round. I wanted to challenge myself to create more layouts and this wonderful place gave me a perfect opportunity.

This first challenge was to use two or more of the same photos. The photo is of our trip to the Bluebonnet Festival in Ennis last month. I don't know if you can tell, but I used Guide Lines II cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Guide Lines Two stamp set. I painted the edges of the ghost butterfly from Heidi Swapp with crackle paint from Ranger. I made a cloud template so you might be seeing these clouds again. I used a house on Stacey's layout for my inspiration here. I have been Stacey's fan for a while and I just love her style. For my house I used 7gypsies large sticker and just added a roof. I used the Flickr program to turn my photos into Polaroids. I discovered that it takes way too long to align everything perfectly on a page. I used to measure and mark with a pencil, snap a photo so I would know where everything goes before I adhered it. This is more fun.

Let me know what you think.

Project 365 - week 21.

5.18 - this is one of only three photos for the day. I guess we were too busy playing outside with water and sand. I love it. 5.19 - we went to the Zoo. Alex loves birds and gets really excited when he sees one. Parrot Paradise is a free-flight, interactive aviary featuring cockatiels and parakeets. We bought a seed stick and the birds come and eat. 5.20 - concentrating and building. 5.21 - playdate at the park. He looks so sad in this photo, but he loves to swing and this was before he dozed off. 5.22 - we went out to eat. It's usually a pleasant experience. 5.23 - he finished his milk in this photo, but he loves to stir. He is using a spoon here, but anything will do. 5.24 - this little pony has been around since his birthday. He can just now get on and move it. He was just showing off here.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge #20 - summer }

For this summer card challenge I used Lucky Ladybug stamp set for the butterflies. I stamped them on Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and cut them out. I added glitter to the edges. The journaling note is from Journaling I stamp set. I stamped it on the back of Sassafras Lass patterned paper. "Summer Days" came from Type Stacks All Season. What a fun stamp set that is, you can use it all year long.

I hope you can take a little time to blog-hop to see the beautiful creations by the other Impression Obsession designers: Julie, Dina, Laura , Tina, Shirley, Jeanne and Kelli.

There is a new challenge up at Caardvarks. This challenge is all about creating shapes. You have to check out the shaped card examples here.

I drew an umbrella in Adobe Photoshop and added my own little adjustments. I used a new stamp set by Impression Obsession Bridal Shower. I embossed my umbrella card and stitched around the edges, very carefully. The flowers are stamped on patterned paper and cut out.

I hope you can come and play. To enter go to Caardvarks and link your shaped card. Deadline is June 3, by Midnight PST.

The sponsor for the challenge is Scrapbook News and Review

The prize: the prize: 3 month subscription to SN&R magazine!

Project 365 - week 20

5.11 - Mother's Day dinner. We decided not to go out on Sunday because it would be too crowded. We had so much fun. Thai food. 5.12 - it stopped raining and I took Alex to the playground. He was resting before we went back home. 5.13 - Alex playing with his blocks and trucks. 5.14 - he loves to play Wii. He jumps around, walks in circles and moves like we move. So funny. 5.15 - we went shopping for a sand/water box and found this. He couldn't figure out how to walk forward, only backwards. He thought it was funny until he fell through the hole. I don't think he is ready for this, yet. 5.16 - latest thing, he has to have all his animals on his table while he eats. He feeds them, gives them kisses and plays. He knows what they all are. 5.17 - We found the sand/water box and he loves it!

{ A Special Birthday and a challenge }

Today is a special day because it's Mitra's Birthday and we (Impression Obsession DT) wanted to surprise her with birthday cards. Mitra is the owner of Impression Obsession and she is the one that supplies us with all the beautiful stamps. Happy birthday Mitra, I hope you have a wonderful day !

I stamped the bottom of my card with Petal Flourish. The sentiment is from Circle Greetings stamp set. I added little butterflies from Butterfly Bliss set that I stamped and cut out.

Happy Birthday wishes from the other DT members: Jeanne Streiff, Dina Kowal, Deborah March, Kelli Richardson, Laura Fulcher, Shirley Ross, Tina Werner, Julie Koerber.

Tina is offering blog candy on her blog (Impression Obsession Gift Certificate).

I am hosting a challenge this week at Embellish-online.com. My challenge is to make a card by stamping on punched/die cut shapes. I used a little swirl shape from Young at Heart stamp set to stamp on punched circles. I stamped and punched a sentiment from Circle Greetings stamp set.

{ 2 Sketches 4 You, Project 365 - Week 19 }

How about a cupcake??? I received this cute set in the mail yesterday from Impression Obsession!!! Brand new and so adorable. It is called Create-a-Cupcake. I paper pieced the cupcake (Basic Grey patterned paper). The top is stamped on felt and cut out. I wanted to add some "real" sprinkles and I have all these beads that I never use. They are stitched by hand. I love how it turned out. I "curved" the sentiment on my acrylic block to go along with my scallop shape. This card is for Kazan's sketch 26.

Project 365 - week 19.

5.4 - Alex discovered how to pull the paper from the roll. 5.5 - we just got back from the doctor for his 15 month checkup. He found daddy's wallet. 5.6 - I bought him new pajamas last week and this was the first time he had them on. 5.7 - "Hello?" Anything can be a phone. 5.8 - it's been raining all week. We were both getting bored. He found coloring books and crayons in the game closet. That was a hit. 5.9 - I was trying to put his clothes on in the morning, but he escaped. This is where he ended up. 5.10 - right after his bath. I was playing with the new camera I got from Alex and daddy. I really like it.

How is your project coming along? Are you still taking pictures?
